What's your New Year's Resolution? Hi Everybody! Here's a little history about me. I was born and raised in Maine, graduating from Greenville High School in 1993. I attended college at William Smith in Geneva, NY and graduated in 1997 with a B.S. in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. While at college, I worked as an athletic trainer for the Hobart hockey team, other sports and summer camps. I drove out West for graduate school at the University of Oregon in Eugene. In 1998, I received a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology. When I came back to Penn Yan, I temporarily worked as a teacher substitute. I really enjoyed it, but needing something more permanent, I went to work in the hospitals in Penn Yan and Geneva as a lab tech and phlebotomist. It was very interesting work, but I realized that I missed being around young people and intellectual challenges. In 2001, I left the hospital, married and went to work at DeSales High School in Geneva. I taught Biology, Chemistry and Gemini Biology for 3 years. In 2004, I went to Canandaigua Academy to teach Chemistry and then after having my first child, I wanted to be closer to home. (I now have 2 children, Conor & Erin.) I also wanted a small school where I could teach multiple subjects and so I could see students througout their years. I LOVE my students - they are the BEST!
